Posted: May 19th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Download Games, Reviews | No Comments »

This second episode in a series of five is really good. Strong Bad the hilarious comic web character is back, in another exciting point click adventure from Telltale. The game begins with Strong at his usual best replying to his emails. Unfortunately all is not going well as the king of the town who incidentally is a Santa impersonator is taxing the use of email. This couldn’t be worse for our hero as it is his life’s work.

Strong Bad: Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner Review

Posted: May 19th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Download Games, Reviews | No Comments »

This game is the collaboration of two unique styles namely point click adventure plus flash cartoons to make a superb new series of games involving Strong Bad. The character is a suave sophisticated man with attitude, cool quirky and off beat or so he would have us  believe anyway. In reality he is a weird looking green eyed monster who wears boxing gloves and is the main character of a web based comic. Released for the Wii it is a first rate addictive game that I have had many a happy hour playing.

Sam and Max: Episode 3: Night of the Raving Dead Review

Posted: May 19th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Download Games, Reviews | No Comments »

I wasn’t so sure when I heard the next episode in the Sam and Max detective adventures was going to involve zombies as there are so many of these games around but there was no need for concern. This point and click game is very good plus it loses none of the humour or excitement of the previous episodes in this series. It is full of fun and great puzzles while capturing the essence of a good zombie story. Sam and Max of course are still the quirky dog plus rabbit duo we have come to know and love.

Puzzle Agent 2: Episode 2 Review

In Puzzle Agent 2 we once again join Nelson Tethers where we left him at the end of the last game. Tethers is an FBI agent in charge of puzzle solving and is still in Scoggins Minnesota investigating strange happenings at the eraser factory even though his superiors have actually closed the case. This is a great sequel to the first game with the same areas to traverse plus similar puzzles to solve. That said if you enjoyed playing episode one and hoped for a fun follow up you will not be disappointed.

Hector Badge of Carnage: Episode 3: Beyond Reasonable Doom Review

Posted: May 17th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Download Games, Reviews | No Comments »

We are back again in Clappers Wreake the tawdry town where drug dealers, hookers and general low lifes are the norm. The evil mastermind that has haunted our intrepid hero Detective Inspector Hector is still at large. This is the third episode in what has been a great series of adventure games from Telltale. Newcomers who haven’t played the first two episodes have missed a real treat so I would definitely recommend the games to you but just to bring you up to speed here are a few details regarding Hector.

Being the hero plus the main character in the game doesn’t necessarily mean that Hector is all good. I have a good deal of affection for the character myself but adjectives that describe him accurately are foul mouthed, belligerent, politically incorrect and devious. He does nothing by the book and is not averse to the odd bit of violence to get his way. That said he does have a certain charm as well as being hilariously funny so if you do not offend easily plus can see the funny side of life you will love this point and click game.

Hector Badge Of Carnage: Episode 2: Senseless Acts of Justice Review

Posted: May 15th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Download Games, Reviews | No Comments »

Chief Inspector Hector’s back once again in a hilariously lewd adventure that will amuse, with his none political correctness, along with all his other foibles such as ignorance, foul mouthedness, corrupt nature plus hatred of everything and everybody attitude. The last we saw of him he was in a sticky situation stuck in a death trap scenario. Will he escape? I do hope so as I have come to like this loveable rogue.

Hector Badge of Carnage: Episode 1: We Negotiate With Terrorists Review

Posted: May 15th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Download Games, Reviews | No Comments »

For those of you who are not familiar with the TV series featuring Hector I will give you a little background so he isn’t a complete stranger. Hector in fact is a detective inspector that has some not so pleasing attributes. He basically loathes just about everyone, is the most unpolitically correct person you could meet,is ignorant to the extreme, is foul mouthed plus hates kids. Apart from all that he’s great! He is actually hilarious so will have you in stitches as he goes about solving crime while most of the things he says or does are done pretty tongue in cheek so shouldn’t offend anyone with a good sense of humour.

This is the second game of four in the series following on from The Intruder which was a great introduction to the Jurassic Park story. Just in case you are new to the game plus have not seen the films this adventure game is set on an island that is inhabited by dinosaurs. These creatures have been recreated by scientists but as with such projects things soon begin to go wrong. Based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman The Walking Dead Episode 1, the first of five, is a zombie tale of the undead that fans of ghoulish adventures will love. Back to the Future Game: Episode 5: Outatime! Review

Posted: May 14th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Download Games, Reviews | No Comments »

back to the future 5 game

This is what the previous four games have been building up to! The grand finale of the Back to the Future series which has been awaited with much anticipation and does not fail to deliver. The final game is phenomenal and that is no exaggeration. The story, the graphics, the soundtrack, the puzzles, are simply superb. With all us seasoned adventure gamers having such high expectations for this final game Telltale must have felt somewhat under pressure but it really does not show as the game lives up to everything expected of it and more.

Outatime! Is the culmination of all the adventures plus puzzle solving leading to a natural ending to the story of Marty and Doc our beloved heroes. The puzzles in this game are certainly challenging in parts but are plentiful in nature so there is plenty to get your teeth into. Some of the scenes are fantastic such as the car chase where we see the DeLorean tearing along at break neck speed or the near gun fight in the local saloon that adds plenty of edge of the seat nerves to the pot. There is of course the statutory optional hint system again this time round that is great if you get really stuck or frustrated with a particular puzzle.

Back to the Future: The Game Episode 4: Double Visions Review

Posted: May 14th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Download Games, Reviews | No Comments »

back to the future 4 game

We have now reached the penultimate game of this series and what a fantastic one it is. Double Visions has all the qualities of the previous episodes and more. Fans of the Back to the Future films like myself will find this episode full of nostalgia and fun as once again it brings to life our heroes Marty McFly and Doc Brown plus loads of Sci Fi generated adventures to keep you occupied for hours.

Double Visions begins where episode three left off back in 1931 at the precise point where everything went pear shaped. Doc is head over heels in love with Edna Strickland much to Marty’s annoyance so the object is to get Doc to see her for what she really is and basically dump her. This is achieved once again through the solving of puzzles plus collection of items using the point and click method.

Back to the Future The Game: Episode 3: Citizen Brown Review

Posted: May 13th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Reviews | No Comments »

back to the future 3 game

As the third game in this series Citizen Brown suffers a little from mid term blues in my opinion but never the less is a good game that suggests that future episodes will be great. It has all the same hallmarks as the previous two episodes with Marty mainly and Doc in the thick of it as usual problem solving and working out puzzles to achieve their goals.

The story begins as Marty McFly returns to 1986 to find that Hill Valley the leafy town he knows and loves has been transformed into a kind of fortress with a “Big Brother is watching you” attitude. Doc Brown is now First Citizen with the towns new motto being “Relax we have everything under control”control being the key word here. Marty has to somehow discover what has happened and hopefully bring the town back to its former state.
